Anti Roll Bar bushes

Hi Folks

New to the forum and need some advice please. I need to replace the anti roll bar bushes and wondering if ther's anything I should know before I start. I'm not a mechanic but have most tools. Is there a thread or section here on maintenance that someone could point me towards for a "How to" guide for this job.?

Thanks in advance
Ashley

It's pretty straight foward. You have a bolt and nut on the end links. Take the nut off and then the bolt drops down. As far as the bushings for the sway bar, take the two bolts out on each side. There is a slot on the bushing and it'll pry apart to let it release. Grease the new one and install in reverse order.

Hi Folks,

I've just replaced the anti roll bar bushes on my 2002 Grand Voyager because of a thumping noise going over bumps and it all went well. No more thumpingexcept that now I have a sort of clicking noise when steering. When I move the wheel turn to turn it happens more.!

Any ideas...??

Thanks
Ash

Might be your CV joints, too much play in them, or there is binding some where in the system.

Thanks Chryslertech,

This is more of a metal to metal clicking sound. Sounds like it hits something when turning but nothing is in the way. Does this sound like sway bar links..? Is this something I could do and are they expensive.?

Thanks
Ash

Ferderal Moog parts are the highest quality. I think they're $30 a piece if I remeber correctly. They are also fairly simple to change. You'll need an 8mm box wrench to hold the center shaft still while you losen the nut. Preload the suspension a little bit and you'll be able to line the sway bar up with the control arm again.
