When the check engine light comes on it means that there is an error code stored in the computer. Take it back to where they did the work, they will scan it again and find out what is generating the error code.
I have never heard of a "Chrysler Intrepid". Maybe it's a European model. Sounds like you have the four cylinder engine. If that's the case, it seem that when the cam sensor needs replacing, the crank sensor also needs replacing. Anyway, no point in guessing. Read the codes and get it fixed.
