Circular Shifter and Transmission

My 2015 300 is great and runs well. However, it has developed an issue and the dealer can't find a cause or solution. Not regularly, but sometimes the shifter will engage D or R and seem normal BUT when I hit the gas there is no action. It appears to be in neutral and the engine spins but nothing gets to the wheels. The backup camera engages in R but no movement. This has happened a number of times and sometimes the shifter locks and won't turn. For the most part I just guess what to try and it always requires a compete shut-down and essentially a reboot. However, this is repeatedly reliable. Has anyone had this issue as the dealer days there has been no bulletin? Need a solution.
