Fitting a DVD player
 

Hi,

I have just bought a voyager... lovely little girl she is; cost me under £1500 and is not perfect but tidy and runs like a good 'un!

Now the children want me to install a DVD player and I have purchased one from EBAY... roof mounted with a fifteen inch screen.

I have absolutely no idea how difficult this is going to be to install and am looking for anyone that has done the job to point out any pitfalls to watch out for.

In terms of tech ability (saw someone else get heavily flamed because they hadn't explqained whether they were technically competent), I am quite happy wiring radios and install vehicle tracking systems (in fact I design and program them), along with radios and such... and am mechanically competent having tought my 12 year old how to maintain and repair our land rover; which he does quite happily.

Simply looking to get any insight on pitfalls that might catch me unawares.

About the biggest pitfall I can make you aware of would be running a screw through existing wiring when installing it. As for anything else, I would have to see the kit. If you're anywhere near the airbag module disconnect the battery.

Thanks mate.... I would probably disconnect the battery as a matter of course before doing anything electrical to be honest - the kit should be arriving from ebay overthe next couploe of days and I will know more about it then. Hopefully a straightforward job!
