Hello i need some help with a 204 sebring lxi i inherited car had sat for 3 years , was running when parked. I bought new battery and put fresh fuel in. Tired to start and could not hear fuel pump run. I checked all fuses and swap out some relays pump still not coming on. I went and bought new pump changed it out still wont come on . I checked the blue plug at the pump and have power at two of the five holes . I plugged up pump and it will not come on. .I bought a new pump still wont run. I returned the pump thinking i got a bad pump , swapped in pump number two and still nothing . I dont know what to do next. This is a nice car i would like to see it back on the road. Thanks for any help . I thinking i could be over looking some thing little.

The two wires with power are gray with green strip and green with red strip . Car will run when i spray fuel in throttle body. but fuel pump will not prime .

CHRYSLER TECH Nov 28, 2020 06:13 PM

ok thoes 2 wires are for the fuel sending unit not the put itself.

solid green wire is power solid black wire is ground . Jump the fuel pump relay under the hood pin 30 and 87 then measure for power at the green wire

Man i am at a loss turns out this 2004 lxi with the 3.0 has the mitsubishi fuse box . Every thing works put no power at fuel pump i jumped the new pump and it will run. put gas in throttle body car run good. But i can not get it to send power to the green wire at pump . I also dont know where pump relay is .

CHRYSLER TECH Nov 29, 2020 04:28 PM

get your owners manual it will show you where the fuel pump relay is at. and there will not be any power back to the fuel pump unless 2 things happen its cranking or the engine is running then there will not be power supplied back there. This is why i told you to jump the relay.

Don't look at any wiring diagram for a Sebring unless it's for a Coupe. Coupes were built by Mitsubishi, sedans and convertibles were built by Chrysler. They have almost no parts in common. Mitsubishi built the Chrysler Sebring coupe and a Mitsubishi coupe and a Dodge coupe all basically the same with different trim. 2001 through 2006 are essentially the same. There's a Haynes manual that isn't too bad. Wiring diagrams are less than complete. Chrysler began posting owners manuals on line for 2005 model year. The 2005 or 2006 might be helpful for your car if it's there. Check chrysler.com.
