heater / climate control problem

Hi all,

My 94 chrysler vision has a weird problem.

The heater/climate control starts at random. I can press OFF what i want, but it responses only after 10 seconds or more.

Sometimes the temp display stays off when it powers up. Besides that, it only blows hot air. even if it sometimes displays 16 degrees celcius.

Here is a pic of the console:

I really hope someone can point me in the right direction how to troubleshoot this..
thanks in advance !

RE: heater / climate control problem

It sounds like you have 2 different problems going on, or at least there are 2 aspects to the problem.

First, the sluggish response time for the controls, and the only blowing hot air seems to indicate a vacuum related issue. Check all hoses for cracks and kinks. The leaks can also be within the control unit.

Second, the display problems are undoubtedly electrical, likely a bad unit needing replaced. But check for loose wiring first.
