How to drain the Gas Tank through the fuel pump (Pacifica 2005)
 

I am trying to drain my gas tank via the fuel pump and something is blocking the fuel from coming out. Any suggestions?

Hello,

I recently ran out of gas and had someone bring me a can of gas.. Later to find out it is either Diesel fuel or watered down gas. OR gas mixed with 2-cycle oil. I'm not sure, I trusted my friend would bring me gasoline.
Anyway.. I have the air filter off and the fuel line disconnected from the engine and connected to a hose going to a bucket. I turn the key and I hear the fuel pump coming on but no fuel is coming out of the hose. There is something blocking it or something I may be doing wrong. Would this have clogged the oil filter causing it not to drain? any advise would help greatly!

do u hear the fuel pump prime up when u turn the key?
there is not an inline filter its built into the fuel pump itself
and u also have 2 fuel pumps if U need to replace them

Yes i hear the oil pump prime.. It spits out just a little gas when the key is turned.. Someone told me there is a safety feature that stops the fuel from pumping after 3 seconds of turning the car on. I was told you can ground out pings 30 and 86 of the fuel pump relay and get make the fuel continue to flow after turning the key. Either i'm doing it wrong or its not working.. any ideas?

pin 30 and 87 yes the fuel pump just primes up for 3 seconds then turns off that is normal

I got it running! used two fuel injection bottles I paid 5.95$ for at autozone.
I then added 5 gallons of mid grade fuel to dilute the the watered down/oil mixed fuel. No draining needed in this case. I burned out the bad fuel and it is running flawlessly now! :)

P.S.

This won't work for everyone!
keep in mind it depends on what was put in the gas tank.
