I'm having a little difficulty understanding. What info do you need? If you have any codes list them here.

cam sensor location chrysler stratus cabroleit

hiya

I believe it is the cam sensor that i need to sort. I have Chrysler stratus/sebring 1999 V6 2.5 convertible (cabroliet). European model

I have had some info on a coupe, is this the same as the cabroleit - not sure what a coupe is?

I am trying to locate the cam sensor on the above car can you help me at all?

Also do you know what the purple and white wire in the ECU is for?

I have had the car in the garage in spain for months now and no one seems to know

Any help you can give please

thanks

Hey, keep it this thread. You have like 3 others. The cam sensor IS basically the distributor itself. Crank sensor is on trans end of engine towards the back. It pokes through a hole in the transmission bellhousing and has ONE 10MM head screw holding it in and a 8 inch or so pigtail hanging off of it.

NO..the COUPE is a totally different pig. Basically same engine but different electrical system. From your first post sounds like typical crank sensor malfunction.(of course i'm not there to see the data and the DTCs) Make sure you seat it right when you install the new one. There SHOULD be a little wafer on the tip of it to set the air gap. Press it in firm when tightening the screw but don't lay on it with gorilla force. And don't let your spark plugs and wires get old. That's how distributors get killed. They are NOT cheap.
