New car, bad engine bearing
Have an '07 300C SRT with 1500 miles. I heard a knocking sound and the dealer said I had a bad main bearing. The SRT folks are trying to decide what to do: replace te bearing, replace the engine, etc. Any suggestions as to whatconcerns I shouldhave or what Chrysler SHOULD do? Thaks in advance

RE: New car, bad engine bearing
Replace the engine. It's happened before and Chryslet Tech doesn't think it is a flaw with the engineering. We had an intrepid and had the same problem.

RE: New car, bad engine bearing
na not a flaw its who installed it from the factory hehe a monday or friday car ya know.
a flaw would have several 6.1 hemi with the same prob in the same line of each other going down the assembly line am i right?? I dont see any rapid responce out for the 6.1 in any of our cars or trucks if they do come out with one then yeah possablity also depends on when it was built as well. The intrepid was a different engine u cant compare 2 different engines that are built in different places by different people. |
RE: New car, bad engine bearing
I have an '05 300 with the 3.5L and I am quite sure I hear a tapping sound but the dealer tells me it's normal? Is this something many are complaining about?
