Old Chrysler Grill/Emblem Identification Help!

Hello all,

Can anyone help me identify this grill and emblem I purchased today at a garage sale? I can't find anything online that matches it.

Post the pictures on 'allpar.com'. Quite certain someone will be able to identify it.

Those stamped numbers in the last picture don't look like something you'd see on a production part. Could that be a prototype part that was rejected for production? The general shape of the grille resembles what you might find on a Chrysler Newport from the late 1970's, but the detail of the design doesn't seem right at all. Are you in the Detroit area? Somebody might have liberated it from a dumpster at the design studios and kept it as a souvenir until the garage sale.

Here's one listed on ebay, 1974-75 New Yorker.

Thanks

The "surround" looks right but the grille itself looks different from the New Yorker and Newport.

It's a mystery unless it's not a production part.

Ebay listing of '74-'75 New Yorker grill and surround. Curious as to what you paid for yours;don't believe you paid $725
