Problematic Power steering
Evening all, I have an 89 Mark Cross New Yorker That has been been giving me fits for the last couple of years. Here's the skinny, she has a BUTTload of miles on her however she is well cared for and I cannot stand a leak. at the back of the P/S pump which has been changed 3 times because of leaks and the stupid pressure hose as well. the rack does not leak she is quiet and drives beautifully however power steering fluid is still appearing and it gets on the exhaust manifold and DRIVES ME UP A &$@*()%*$$* wall. I CANNOT get it to STOP leaking I have tried teflon tape at the connection points. I have tried replacing oring after oring and nothing. its always coming from what it looks like the back of the pump where the hose connects to the pump. I have had to rebuild the suspension because of mileage issues so NOW the idea of allowing it to continue to leak is NOT an option. I am almost about to push the car off a cliff if this leak will not stop. I will not replace more hard to find rubber bushings because of a leak in the power steering. I am at a LOSS, any ideas?
That's just it how many orings do I need to change before she seals?
It is the saginaw design pump that was used on many chryslers and GM vehicles
I have even replaced the pump itself hoping to fix this leak... Thanks for the input though

Replaced the pump AND reservoir or just the pump? We used to have to get new reservoirs because they wouldn't seal. nIf i remember correctly there was a metal one and then they had a plastic one later on. Those sucked.
