SES CODES: 2002 Chrysler Concorde Limited Addition

Hello there.

MY 2002 C.C. pulled two SES light codes...

p0175/p0300

I have had the O2 sensor replaced and one day
the light came again.

Any help??

Thanks,
G

Are these the codes that came when the light came on again? Can't be sure with the chronology of your post.

The P0175 in an indication that the system believes that bank 2 is running rich. Could be several causes including an O2 sensor. Might just need some new plugs. The P0300 means multiple misfires, and there's a possibility that the misfiring is causing raw gas to reach the cat converter, making the system think that it's running rich.

Double check your new sensors and consider a tune-up. Erase the codes then and see if they come back. Come back and give us a report.

Well... it's been 4 days and the mechanic has NO IDEA
what's causing the check engine light to come on with
the 175/300 codes...Geesh...

CHRYSLER TECH 04-07-2009 10:28 PM

take it to a better mechanic one that under stands speed density fuel injection not mass air flow.

jempub 04-08-2009 06:36 AM

The mechanic told me they are doing some sort of a "compression cleaning" or something
like that. I think there is MORE to this than I'm being told. It's a 2002 Chrysler Concorde
Limited Edition. It has 139,000 miles on it. Maybe the engine is shot!

CHRYSLER TECH 04-08-2009 11:00 PM

its not a cleaning issue they are wasting your money

this is the possible causes for that code.

INTERMITTENT CONDITION
O2 SENSOR HEATER OPERATION
O2 SENSOR
EVAP PURGE SOLENOID OPERATION
O2 SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT
O2 SENSOR RETURN CIRCUIT
THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR VOLTAGE GREATER THAN 0.92 VOLTS WITH THROTTLE
CLOSED
TP SENSOR SWEEP
MAP SENSOR OPERATION
ECT SENSOR OPERATION
ENGINE MECHANICAL PROBLEM
FUEL FILTER/PRESSURE REGULATOR (HIGH)
PCM

Well.... here's the latest...

After the "mechanic" installed ANOTHER 02 sensor and
"said" the car was running fine... called me up an hour
later and said the light came BACK ON!

"supposedly" the car is giving an "intermittent" code or
something.

SO... Now I'm to take it to a dealership where they will
do a "flash" (whatever) and reprogram the computer.

HUH!!??!!??!!

G

CHRYSLER TECH 04-09-2009 11:37 PM

that still wont fix it there is no flash aka computer upgrade that will fix this.

CHRYSLER TECH 04-09-2009 11:38 PM

This is one reason why some techs get bad reps the people b4 them dont know crap and dont know enough when to say they dont know what they are doing and just mess more stuff up.

jempub 04-10-2009 07:17 AM

Well then...

What WILL fix it?

I'm at my end with this.

The car runs EXCELLENT but I do not trust it
if the light keeps coming on and shooting all
kinds of codes at me.

CHRYSLER TECH 04-10-2009 02:35 PM

I cant tell u what will fix it U saw the possible cause that I listed above I am not standing infront of the car with a scanner to tell u or I would get it done. What I am telling u what wont fix it and thus far nothing U has said will take it to an experienced Chrysler driveablity guy for this code unless U have deep pockets and can throw any and all parts at it.

jempub 04-11-2009 08:18 AM

Okay... here's the latest scoop...

I was told to take the car to our local Chrysler dealer.

There was a TSB put out about "erroneous codes"...

Here's the TSB # 18-031-02

My "erroneous code" is P0152. The dealership is going
to do a reprogram on the PCM and this is "supposed"
to fix the problem.

What do ya think?

By the way... all this work is costing me nothing.

Thanks,
G

CHRYSLER TECH 04-11-2009 09:39 AM

At what point are u gonna listen to what I am saying this tsb will not fix your issue

MODELS:
2002 (LH) 300M/Concorde/Intrepid
NOTE: THE BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO
APRIL 18, 2002 (MDH 0419XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
MIL illumination with any or all of the following DTC’s:
P0153 – 2/1 O2 Sensor Slow Response
P0159 – 2/2 O2 Sensor Slow Response
P0135 – 1/1 O2 Sensor Heater Failure
P0141 – 1/2 O2 Sensor Heater Failure
P0155 – 2/1 O2 Sensor Heater Failure
P0161 – 2/2 O2 Sensor Heater Failure
P0131 – 1/1 O2 Sensor Shorted To Ground
P0132 – 1/1 O2 Sensor Shorted To Voltage
P0137 – 1/2 O2 Sensor Shorted To Ground
P0138 – 1/2 O2 Sensor Shorted To Voltage

P0152 – 2/1 O2 Sensor Shorted To Voltage
P0157 – 2/2 O2 Sensor Shorted To Ground
P0158 – 2/2 O2 Sensor Shorted To Voltage

I dont see a p300 nor a p175 on there do u??
this flash is for 02 sensors issue U dont have that U have a fuel system rich the list I gave u are the possible causes for what your car is doing a trained tech that knows about Chrysler cars will know what to look for.
If u flash the computer all the valuable data that will help find this issue will be lost.

also one more thing do u have a 3.5 or a 2.7 engine?

jempub 04-12-2009 08:30 AM

My engine is the 3.5.

jempub 05-30-2009 12:30 PM

UPDATE: New Engine... Same Codes!

Hello there.

After months of fooling around with the codes
that were being thrown... (P300, P152, etc..)
the dealer put a new(used) 3.5 engine with 70,000
miles on it in my 2002 Chrysler Concorde Limited.

After installing the engine, the car STILL threw
a P300 code...LOL

These "techs" have replaced sensors of ALL TYPES
and are now saying the car runs great it's probably
a problem with the computer itself.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
G
