Stalling Cirrus

I have a 99 Cirrus with the V-6. Recently it started stalling when driving slowly (under 20 mph.) or when slowing for a stop sign or red light. The check engine light never came on so I knew there wouldn't be a code in the computer. I took it to a mechanic anyway. He changed the fuel filter and cleaned the throttle body, but other than that really had no idea what the problem was. While driving home from the garage...the check engine light came on. I took it back and he checked. He said the code was "fuel mixture too rich". He said it might be from the cleaner he used on the throttle body....he reset the light. The problem was not solved....it kept stalling. Then the check engine light came on again. O2 sensor bad. He replaced the sensor and the problem continues. The light hasn't come back now, but it keeps stalling [:@]!! I need help!!!

RE: Stalling Cirrus

the fuel mixture too rich is where the computer has dumped more then 33% of fuel basicly more then the programing wants to dump in. so it sets that code. Either the air fuel mixture is not bruning all the way or u have a vax leak making the o2 sensor think it has to much air and then it will add fuel to try and get it back to 14.7 to 1 air fuel mixture. The cleaner would not cause that code , What o2 sensor did he replace up or down? My susgestion is to get a can of brake cleaner and spray around the intake with the car running that will find an intake leak if any so that will take that out of the picture.

I think it was the upper sensor (not sure though). I'll try the brake cleaner...will that make it surge if it sucks it in a vac. line??
