technicians and mechanics what do you think

So my sister who is terrible at maintaince on her 99 chysler cirrus and has me look at it. At first glance its leaking from the spark plug holes and has oil over the valve cover. The car needs all new belts and the water pump is leaking a fare amount of coolant and while im at it might as well put a tensioner on it. After draining the light brown water from the radiator and flushing it with good old tap water it turns into a white milkshake. So know im thinking it has a crack or a head gasket leaking oil into the coolant... Everything else looks like its in good condition and only has around 130k miles. The car isnt worth that great of deal of money and I believe I can do all the work but do you peeps think its worth even the project or just scrap it and get a new car for her.

Which engine are we talking about here? Im guessing 2.0 or 2.4?

2.4 v6 110,000 miles

CHRYSLER TECH 02-08-2011 10:16 PM

sorry I dont have the car with me. I know its a v6 and I believe its a 2.5L.

OK, you said "valve cover" (singular), so I was thinking inline. The 2.5 has proven to be a good one over the years. That stuff in your rad could be just accumulated corrosion. Either way it's not a good sign. If you're not doing the work yourself I would say just let it go and get something else. Even if you are... if it's not a nice one, I don't know if I would put the $$ in it.
