1993 ny headlight covers
 

Went out to start my NY the other day and battery was dead. Charged battery and got started. When I turned it off noticed battery voltage was dropping quick. so disconnected battery and found a 4-5 amp drain. So as I was hooking battery back up notice the headlight doors were open even though the lights were turned off. Also notice a clicking with the headlight door relays. so I pulled the 2 headlight door relays, checked amperage drain and it was .2-.4 amp which was reasonable. So i checked the relays and the coils checked out to 82 ohms. all contacts checked out OK. but according to the chrysler schematic there should have been a built in diode with the relay so one direction would be 0 ohms and the other the coil ohmage of 82 ohms. I got 82 ohms both directions. so I unplugged the motor and hooked up 12 v and it would close the doors, switched the polarity and they would close. so motor checks out good. what usually causes the headlight doors to goo wacky? is it the light switch you pull out to turn on the headlights or maybe the body computer? Also didn't see alimit switch that tell the headlight doors to stop. Is that controlled by the body computer? Anybody have any experience with fixing this? What part usually goes bad?

Now my trunk keeps popping open all the time. Me thinks the body computer went south!! Does anyone know if body computers are interchangable? New Yorker-Imperial 1990-1993?

Anyone ever had to replace it?
