I had a time a guy from a high tec. work shop only supporting OEM Garage dealers and he told me that my air mass and faulty becourse he calculated the rpm, engine, vollume and said air flow was to low, change the air mass sensor with out any change, it turn out it was the M.prop valve on diesel pump was stuck and was lean on diesel pressure and some time stall the engine. Your fault could be the other way around. To high pressure and wear the safty valve on rail and to high mix of air/diesel.
I had 3 OEM dealer mec. of this fail , no body figur it out .Had dig out the fail my self.
After this my trust on OEM garage got on very low place.
You also due you self a favor. Disconnect battery and remove it. Turn the fuse box upside down and disconnect all conectors to check corrosion clean and lube them again. Just to be sure your hunting a ghost.
If you get the Tester we could try compare diffrent parameters in the ECU. I also got a 2.5CRD 2002 .
