2.8 CRD running rough
I have an 06 Liberty/Cherokee (2.8 CRD). This winter when the temps dropped below freezing My Jeep started running rough and had a hard time starting. Additionally, the temp gauge was about 1/4 below mid line (it's normal position) when warmed up, the engine light was on and the cruise control wasn't working. The dealer said there was an updated tuning that was due and they installed that, basically that was a software deal.
The update helped with the cold starting but it's still running rough and cold (BTW the heater is fine - plenty hot and the fluid level is normal). The engine light is still on, the CC isn't working and it still idols rough. Seems like it's lost some power between 40 and 75 mph as well.
Before I have the dealer take another crack at it I'm going to change out the thermostat and see if that helps.
Has anyone had a similar problem?
Oh yea, I changed out the fuel filter as well.
