Well it needs to be fixed , however if they can’t duplicate it they are not gonna do anything about it anyways . I’m not thrilled about someone trying to get my truck to slam into gear so they can try to fix it , until they know what’s causing this and put out a service bulletin it won’t get fixed ! I’ve seen were others have numerous trips to dealer and not resolved , it’s happened twice in last 2 weeks with less than 900 miles on it , so I can’t just let them drive it for 2 weeks to hear it do it . Yesterday I was trapped at an ATM ! Couldn’t move truck couldn’t get my door open to get out ! People beeping at me what a joke ! And you can read my comments on ram5thgen forum about my radio blasting my ear drums out ! Or it has no volume at all! I hate my new truck ! Good job Ram !

Default Same Thing is happening to me!

I picked up my new 2019 Bighorn from the dealer two weeks ago, this has happened at least 4 times already. I put it in drive and nothing happens. Very disappointed, this is deff a safety concern and needs to be figured out immediately.

Hi mike ,
Yes I agree , a real safety concern , not to mention I can’t let my family members drive it ! Not that they even would now knowing about all the problems it has ! Very disappointed! Mine is at dealer right now , nothing will change ! Just a big inconvenience and nothing to drive now , when the gears fall out on the ground then they’ll prob be able to fix it ! There answer to everything is that they will flash the computer, yeh that’s not it !!! Anyways good luck with yours I’ll keep posted of any updates !

Default Same here

Just picked up a 2019 Laramie 1500 a week ago and have had the same thing happen 3 times now, now that I am seeing it is a common issue I will be contacting the dealership when service is open.

I just got my 2019 Ram 1500 express, this has happened about 12 times now. Took it to the dealer to no avail and a somewhat flippant " we are not finding anything wrong, are you sure you are using the dial correctly" ( never mind this is my 3rd ram). Wondering what "additional assistance" is to be offered, I just want the damn truck fixed. Scary when it " launches" into D, if you have the rpms up at all the truck lurches and sets you back in your seat. Very disappoiny=ted in my new rruck considering they can't even figure out what is going on- obviously I am not the only one this is happening too.

Update. I brought it to the dealership to have service take a look. After 2 hours of them diagnosing they informed me they believe they’v fixed the issue. ( a code error) ....

So excited to go home, I go out to my truck, start it up, put it in drive and.......nothing happens!!! Luckily, I was in the service departments parking lot so I called them and had the advisor come out and see for himself. Asked me to step on the accelerator a little, which just revs the rpms, then suddenly the gears caught and jolted the truck forward. He was shocked and said “let’s go get you a loaner, this won’t be an easy fix.”

So here I am, after I custom ordered my Ram, driving around a loaner vehicle without any clue as to how long it will take to fix.

Very disappointed, I haven’t even received my first bill and it’s out of service in the shop.

This forum is horrible, how do you PM the idiots? I've sent messages , re posted here and no reply just " they are checking my post" before actually posting it. The dealership is clueless as to what to do, I am stuck with an unsafe NEW truck and none even replies or gets involved after showing " great concern", nice!

Yeh nobody cares ! Until we all bring trucks in with ruined transmissions! Then they’ll have to fix them , meanwhile we all drive around with unsafe vehicles ! We don’t even leave town with ours and I’m not letting anyone else in the family drive it ! Don’t want them getting hurt or stuck with it ! Guess what Ram ! If they won’t come out of park , they aren’t always gonna go into park ! That’ll be awesome when your truck rolls down a hill or thru your house in the driveway! Maybe you’ve heard of a recall ????
