Alarm won't allow me to start car

Hi all!! I am having a serious issue with my Chrysler Sebring Convertible. When I try to start the car the alarm comes on. I tried locking and unlocking the doors with my key that didn't work. I tried the lock and unlock button on the door but it works when it feels like it but, that didn't work. The remote is ancient and doesn't work so that's not an option. So, I'm stuck and have to be to work Monday... Can someone please advise on what I could do...

Try replacing the battery in the remote. You didn't specify the year of your vehicle so it's hard to be specific about how to do that. Check your owners manual, or if your car is 2005 or newer you might find an owners manual at chrysler.com.
There's no easy way to defeat the security system. It wouldn't be much of a security system if there were. A tow to the dealer may be in order.

My car is a 1996... I'm gonna replace the battery to see if that works... Otherwise, yes I have to tow it to a shop...
