chrysler 300 2005 3.5 litre/code PO406

OK, one day my car was running fine, with an occassional miss, at maybe 10 to 15mph.The next day i try to start it, and it wont start. I put my scanner on , and got a code ,PO406, (EGR VALVE). Now my question is, would that keep it from starting, altogether? someone looked at a picture of the throttle body, and said that was the problem. But would'nt the throttle body have a different code, than PO406? Please help, i dont want to buy a throttle body, if thats not the problem. my nephew got down in there, and sprayed some starting fluid, and it started for a second or two..Throttle Body, is major dirty.I treid to listen for the fuel pump, but couldnt hear over the bell inside the car. When the fuel pump fills up, doesnt it shut off?actually , not to sure where fuel pump is. Never had to work on this car till now.. Thank You, any help will be appreciated..Charles92154, from California..

thank you for the 411 on that question,i apreciate anything that may help. I'll get it right, thru process of elimination. so if the throttle body is malfunctioning, it could a number of things. I went thru this with my Durango, about 2 yrs ago. But my brother-n-law, was still alive, and he was a great mech, really good at troubleshooting.Back to task at hand, I'll get my nephew to help and check that fuel pump, then go from there..If it's ok, i'll post my progress so far, and hopefully you, or another whiz at these Chryslers will give some good advice.. Again, thank you for your help......Charles

loud clicking noise

thank you for your feedback concerning my 2005 chrysler 300,3.5litre.we just discovered yesterday, it's a 300 touring model.actually it's my sister n laws car.. Anyway i checked all fuses, and discovered , in front fuse box, cavity 16 was missing fuse , it's for the PCM. I replaced it, double checked all fuses again.I'm not getting anynoise from fuel pump, fuses and relays, good. a little starting fluid, it fires right up, which points to fuel pump. Also, now I'm getting a loud clicking, from the PCM. Battery is kinda run down now, but still kicks over when Iadd starting fluid.. Any feed back will be greatly appreciated..thank you...........charles92154 PS. IT SEEM'S SPARK, AND AIR, GOOD. ONLY MISSING GAS..
