P06DD Error Code - Problem with Oil Pump
 

Hi Everyone,

There are some of you out there that have issues with your vehicle going into what is called "Limp Mode" and registering a P06DD error code. You will notice that your car won't go above 30-40 mph when you step on the gas. Now, if you were to get up to 3,000 rpms and then let the car back down below that, it would operate ok by giving the gas pedal a very light push to make that happen, you can't stomp on it, since it'll only bog down again. In "Limp mode" I was able to get my car up to the regular speed limit without issue, but when I had to step on the gas to either pass a car or get out of a tough spot, it would bog down.

I had that same issue. I replaced the Oil Sending unit, Sensor, and tested the wiring. The code didn't go away. I had to replace my Oil Pump to fix the "Limp Mode" issue where the car wouldn't get past 3,000 rpms. After replacing the oil pump, the code was cleared and now my car is back in normal operating mode.
