98 Concorde Interior Leak(Help!!)
 

Hi, I am new here, I just turned 16 lol. I bought a 1998 Chrysler Concorde LXi 3.2l. Im having a problem with a leak in the front passengers floor. It is soaked. Im not sure if its coming from the heater core, but I smell no antifreeze. This car has 189k miles on it. We had a big rain this past thursday night, so im just trying to figure out where its coming from before it ruins something, all the electronics work except the power side mirrors. if anybody could help a kid out, it would be great,

Check the drain for the A/C condensate. Look in the engine compartment for a rubber tube that comes out of the firewall and points down, then stops. It's supposed to drain water that comes off the air conditioner when it's working and also drain water that finds its way in through the opening for fresh air in front of the windshield. Sometimes small leaves and dead bugs get trapped in there and plug it up. If you can reach the tube, try squeezing it gently. If it feels crunchy inside, there are probably leaves and stuff in there. As you squeeze it, the stuff should fall out the bottom of the tube.
Meanwhile, try to get as much water out of the interior as you can. Soak it up with towels. If you have a shop vac, attack it with that. Then put a small fan in there to blow over the carpet for a couple of days undil it's totally dry. You don't want that water to sit there and get the rugs moldy.

You can also remove the door trim panel and see if the plastic barrier is still sealed and intact. If the plastic barrier is not there, or not sealed, the water can come in at the belt moulding, splash inside the frame of the door, and then into the trim panel, which leads into the interior of the car.
