Help

Hey guys my mom has an 04 town and country and I wanted to know if there were any rwd or even four wheel drive trannys that would work with the engine and any cars that this engine would work in besides the mini van

If only...
The idea might have worked in the 1970s yes. I put a 1500cc diesel engine from a BMC van into a BMC car, a Wolseley 1500 which was a tarted-up version of the Farini Morris Oxford. The only real change to the car was to burn away part of the chassis obstructing the starter motor which was bigger than the petrol version. I had to drill a hole threequarter inch nearer the back for the g/box mounting, and that was it. Everything else fitted immediate, coolant connexions, exhaust pipe etc., no prob.

It's not like that anymore. you can't even guarantee doing an engine swap from what seems an identical vehicle with all the microprocessor boards involved. You might be lucky, you might not.

What you're contemplating is only for real professionals with their thousands of pounds worth of equipment and in depth knowlege. You can for instance get an E-type Jag brought up to modern spec. (and not boiling the engine after 50mile), but you'll have to shell out over £25G.
