So I have just recently picked the wanting to learn to work and know cars as a hobby.

Since I am new, and still learning the ropes, I am unsure of what it exactly "trustworthy" information.

Here is the question, can anyone provide legitimate learning sources that I could use to learn more about sensors, how the engine works, how to work on them, and whatever you think I might find useful.

Things like books, videos, DVDs, etc... will work I can learn pretty much from any format available. I know that the best way is to just 'delve' in and tear stuff and just learn, but I'd like to at least know what it is that I am taking apart and how it works and what not.

The Best advice I can give.......

Put your hands on it.......Books and vids are great, but you will learn much more by "Touching " it.

RULE #1...... Someone just like yourself, designed and built the car.....so it takes no more than a person just like yourself , With a Human Brain and Human hands to figure it out.
RULE #2......You must know what it is, what it looks like and what it is supposed to do BEFORE you ever hope to fix it. Guessing is much more time consuming and expensive than spending the day in thought to figure it out.

See if you can get into a techno-college and learn all you can about microprocessor controlled machinery. That's what modern cars really are...
