1977 Chrysler Cordoba Windshield Wiper Problem

Wondering if anyone may have some advice as to what I should do here, I have a 1977 Cordoba and the windshield wipers arent working, its a simple two bar set up attached to the motor, the bar that connects to the wipers is disconnected from the bar that is attached to the motor, the design of the compartment does not allow me to see or even really reach where the disconnect is at, I have taken it to several shops and they are not really sure of the best way to solve this, any advice would be great, thanks :)

Hi,new to the forum, are they the same little bushes that the dart and dusters have by chance? If so they are a press fit ball sock type little fitting which will over time fail again,so...what I did with mine was install the new bushes and drilled the centre out and installed a stainless machined down bolt and nylock nut with big washers of course ill post a pic when I figure out how,I copied this idea from the Aussie Chrysler Valiant setup thats all wee have over my way .Hope this helps I did it this way cause I dont like fixing things twice and it is a pain in the ass to get up under the dash.
cheers dave
