1978 CORDOBA

I own a 1978 chrysler cordoba that i am trying to restore! I am looking for any ideas on what might be causing a heavy gas smell in the cabin of the car? I dont think it is the carb but i can't think of anything else! anything helps

Does it drip while parked? Do you see a leak anywhere? Could be that there's a leak at the seam of the tank and is coming through the trunk. Could be that there's a slow leak in one of the lines under the cabin that is not dripping but just wet enough to cause a smell and come in through bad door seals or rust holes in the floor.
Good car, by the way. I had a 78 with a 400, reclining buckets, T-roof... And all black. What a beauty!
Post pics if you can. I never get tired of seeing 1st gen Cordoba's.

Also, check in the engine compartment. Your charcoal canister or intake may be leaking a bit or something and if the seal at the back of the hood between the engine bay and the fresh air intake to the cab is not sealing then... I seem to remember one with leaky intake gaskets and the smell came inside.

Not to steal thunder from a very good site that this one is, but for more in depth information on your Cordoba, and a LOT of people that are also in love with the "forgotten B-bodies", go here--> http://www.moparstyle.com/forums/for...ies-1975-1979/ .....tons of good information, in general, for resto, repair, etc.
The people there will be elated to have another Cordoba fan in their midst!
