95 lebaron 3.0 timing
ok i have just about got the dam 02 sensor issue out of the way found oil in the 02 sensor. then the iac failed then the egr failed they most likely failed before i got the car back being it has 77k on it and i did all the other repairs at 60k. but anyway i still have the stumble. the map the iac the egr did not fix it. may be temp related and i noticed today it stumbled when warm not cold. but i need to find out the timing marks on the engine. i see it has a tube on the timing tab. and i can see the timing notch thru that tube. but i do not believe that is the way to set the timing on it. if i use that notch to set it to the 12 deg i found the setting to be it will be 20 deg or more. i do not think that notch is for the marks on the tab. but i do not see any other marks on the pulley. and i can't see the notch when the tab is in place so it can't be used for timing.
anyone here have the answer or a youtube showing how to do it. or am i going to just have to figure it out myself. thanks bp.

no ignition timing. there must be a way as it has timing marks on the tab. and a notch on the pulley. for the most part timing is adjusted by the ecu but if you rebuild the engine and reset the distributor you have to be able to do first timing. thanks

I may be wrong, but I do believe the distributor drive gear is a one way fit offset tongue and groove type drive and not gear driven. did you look to see if the distributor body mounting even allows for movement to adjust?
As I have said my old 3.0 has been gone for a long time for my memory to recall such details.

nope nope on that car? i had the rotor pointing in every direction check this link see the gear anyway i just made a guess on the timing and set it with a light to 12 deg on the tab marks hoping that that tube was used for some other reason and not timing with a light. i set it running to 12 deg and and now to see if that doesn't affect mpg and performance. on the 87 you remove the temp switch wire but i di that on the 95 and the fan turned also set a code 22 and then i rechecked the timing and it was back to where it was before i set it myself. what i need is the timing procedure so i may set it correctly. there has to be one out there. of i will look on ebay for a service manual for this engine and find it in there. thanks
