oil pressure/valve covers - 1995 lebaron gtc

hey all. i posted about my car but here i will go more in depth

just bought 95 lebaron gtc. convertible, 70k miles. v6 auto. drives awesome. but a couple issues

1. lots of gunk on valve covers, doesnt really look like oil more like really dark grey gunk. but then again it could be just built up with dirt also. it smokes a little on the manifold after turning the car off from it leaking down.

2. oil pressure never went above the 1st hash mark. while driving ( and accelerating fast) the needle never went above the 1st hash mark (i bold faced where it never went above) "L | |__|__|__| | H" . at idle it was sitting at "L | |__|__|__| | H"the engine never stalled and the idle rpms stayed around 500-600. still had good power. no crazy engine noises.

there are no records of maintenance. im the 3rd owner. i was planning on doing the timing belt anyway. seems like it has good reviews, good reliability and parts are super cheap. im looking forward to enjoying it

looks like the reason for the low oil pressure was a bad oil pressure sending unit. system still checked out fine so thats good. no other issues so im ready to enjoy it once the rain stops in a couple days
