2003 Concorde

I have a 2003 Concorde, and it had been a while since I got an oil change. The car stopped on me and it was nearly all the way out of oil. The man who towed my car said I should just put about 4 quarts of oil in it and it will start again. Another person told me that the engine is more than likely locked up. Which one of these people are probally right and if it just needs some oil to get started long enough for me to get it to the shop, what kind of oil should I use? Thank you

RE: 2003 Concorde

hmmm well does the motor turn over? if it just all of a sudden stopped on you im thinking it wont start or turn over. If this is the case you've got some major problems on your hands. could be that the bearings on the crank are gone. if the engine is turning over and not starting it would sound more like a timing belt to me.
