2004 CONCORDE Heating/Running Issues
I have a 2004 CONCORDE LSI with only 63000 miles. I love the car BUT I have this issue that I have been fighting off and on for a year. First a little background, this is my second Concorde, the first was a dream car, which I loved. I sold it when I was told it would be a while before I’d be allowed to drive because of a medical condition. I was finally able to drive again and wanted another comfortable long distance car, thus the Concorde. This one with 61000 miles, it started having issues when the temperatures here in the Phoenix Valley started reaching 114° the car would be running great, then just quit, no reason just quit. We bought an OBD II and followed the repair codes, one said it needed the knock sensor replaced, but upon research I was told that would not cause the car not to quit and not to run. We replaced the fuel pump, checked the fuel lines, filters, etc. everything was good, no more codes (yes check engine was on). NOW it is overheating; I haven’t put the OBD back on yet. BTW, originally I tied the FIXX which was really not worth very much then went to my husband’s tool area and got his INNOVA Since I’ve been told that Concorde’s just don’t run when ambient temperatures reach over 110°. I had never heard that. Any ideas? I certainly hope this will finally fix the engine staling issues. Any known shortcuts for replacing the thermostat?
Wow that is crazy to hear won’t run in extreme heat. Obvious BS.
As far as the thermostat, what engine ? 2.7 or 3.5.
some say the 3.5 can be done from the top if the alternator is removed. I do it from the bottom after removing the oil filter. Check out www.300mclub.org
