faulty wheel cylinder?

While rebuilding the drum brakes on a 92 Lebaron I was replacing the wheel cylinder on one side and as I was attaching the brake line when I noticed that the nut on the brake line wasn't getting as tight as it should. Looking closely under a light I saw as I was turning the nut that the threaded part of the wheel cylinder was turning right along with the nut. This the first time I've encountered this situation. I wondered first if it would leak and thought it probably would. Since I'd ordered it rather than buying it locally, it would take several days to return it and get a replacement. Also the shipping costs will be rule this out.
I wondered if I could undo the brake line and remove the threaded nipple from the brake cylinder. If so and I applied the Red Loctite on the threaded area that is in the brake cylinder, would this secure the nipple in the cylinder so I could attach the brake line normally? Has anyone had this problem and if so how did they solve it?
