Help with diagnostic
My 2000 chrysler cirrus is running rough and the check engine light is on (not flashing). I stopped at Auto Zone for a diagnostic and was told that Cylinder 3 is misfiring. Ok, I know nothing about engines so I was wondering if someone could explain this for me, so that I know what I'm talking about when I take in into the garage for repair. Thanks!

Thank you for replying to my post. I do realize I would tell them what the symptoms are, but I just wanted to be a little informed and have an intellegent conversation with them.

Not to sound like an ass but this will be lol Who u talk to are noting but a service writer a person who wrights down what U say and then take it back it to a tech in the back. It wont matter if u tell them the Flux capacitor is broken most of the time they have no idea about how to fix a car. U tell them what I said the tech will do his job U hope then U will get a call from your buddy up front and tell u what it will need to be fixed and along with what ever else they find wrong w the car at the time aka brakes tires fluids whats ever.

Outcome not what I wanted
The service station is still trying to figure out what's going on, they say that the diagnostic code on these 2.5l engines could mean many things. I was hoping it was the spark plug/wire on cylinder 3, but no such luck. They now recommend replacing the crank sensor and distributor, costing $1,000. Sure hope this works, I've put so much money in this car.

Everyone keeps saying a misfire on cylinder 3, that's it.

In the mean time I'm so mad, your mobile service is right here in Atlanta, I'm in Kennesaw, and I wish I would have contacted you for my repairs. Oh well, I'm sure something else will come up and I will call you for help.
