If this has been asked before, please accept my apology, and direct me to the correct thread. I have looked, and I am unable to find one.
We have an 02' 4 door sedan, automatic. We purchased the vehicle in it's current condition, for a mere $500.
. The body and interior are in new condition, I mean NEW. This deal couldn't be passed up. When we purchased it this was all we knew, the fuel pump will engauge, and the starter will click, but the engine did not turn... at all! The timing chain is broke, and 2 of the front spark plugs have been hit by their pistons. I believe (without taking apart) that the pistons have been cracked.
The issue at hand. I want to swap out the 2.7l with a 3.3l? I understand that they both mount to the same automatic tranny. The area where I live, we can buy engines all day long. They are never in short supply, and you find yourself out no more than $700. I want to know, if what I am thinking is possible, what else will I have to change. The pcm and it's wire's? Anything else?
Rebuilding and swapping engines and tranny's are not foreign to me, but this compartment if pretty tight. I'm ready to do this, have any of you done this before?
