Excesive Brake Dust on 2016 200
I have been experiencing high amount of brake dust on all 4 wheels on my 2016, 200 from day one. Car started out with 80 miles on it, now has just over 1,200. the dust is so heavy it turns the wheels black almost. was told by the dealer ( shop ) that this was normal, and it should clear up around 2,000 miles. I have never had a car with this much brake dust. Chrysler says car came out with standard Mopar Brakes.
Dealer tried to tell me how Brakes work, told them I spent 20 years in Navy, and worked on a farm for 20 years , I know how they operate.

If that particular car sat on the dealer's lot for a while, it's possible that the rotors got rusty, in which case, it will take a little while for them to polish up and get a glaze, then polish up the pads. Keep your eye on them and see if the situation changes with use. If no improvement in a reasonable amount of time, keep hounding the dealer. He could take a light cut on the rotors to smooth them out and buff the pads. That should clear up the problem. If it still persists, you might have to involve the zone office and get them to replace the rotors and pads with better quality parts.
OEM pads and rotors shouldn't be that bad.
Make sure you're not left-foot braking and riding the pedal.

I will say that old habits are hard to brake , for I am a left-foot braking person, for after driving sticks for 20 plus years and being 60 years of age. With this being the first new car to have this problem it drives me up a tree.
Riding the pedal causes the brakes heat up, wear out , (Fail) etc.
