My 04 has Toyo A/T's on it. HORRIBLE TIRES!!! Poor wear, noisy, and they started slow-leaking air...apparently through the belts (as far as anyone can tell) You get what you pay for! Stick with name brand stuff on tires!!! Blowouts are not prudent to a good ownership experience.

With a 2007 Pac Touring I have been researching tires. I am down to two choices. Michelin LTX M/S2 ( a new tire out in Sept) that sells for $184 each on Tire Rack and General Grabber HTS that you can probably pick up for less than $100 a tire. Check this one out. On Tire Rack's consumer report deal it was top of the bunch above and beyond the "name" brands. Good luck. Let us know how you come out and how you like the new tires.

I am running the Hankook Optimo's on my '05 Limited. It was a much more affordable option in the 235-55-19. I was out about $149 each which was $100 under the Michellin. So far I am pleased with overall ride comfort and noise level. Have not yet been in any situations to test the grip under particularly adverse conditions. Reviews were OK on Tire Rack. Winter will tell although the OEM Michellins were no great shakes last winter.

The Limited in that range had the chrome 19's standard and some of the Tourings had optional 19's on an alloy rim. I hear you on the price but I went in knowing that and bought the Limited for it's other features. If you look you can find a touring or special edition with just about all the same options probably running on 17's.

You can get 17" rims for around 600$ new at TireRack (or other online stores). you will then need 235/65 R17 tires.

there is a 0.5% difference in speedometer readings between the two tire sizes. (60MPH=59.7MPH)

I have an 05 FWD Touring with 19" alloy rims. The Michelins MXM4 are *insanely* expensive.

I need dedicated winter tires by law here, so I got Blizzak DM-V1's as they are the only winter tire available in that size (Pirelli Scorpion Ice+Snow was out of stock and more expensive)

My next summer (all-season) tires are going to be Yokohama Parada Spec-X.

On another Pacifica Forum, members there like the Cooper CS4 Touring. One gentleman drives a lot and he swears by them.
