Default 01 concorde bcm location/replacement questions

Hello, I have a 2001 Concorde LXi and recently was told by a repair shop that my Bcm was faulty and that they could not repair it because the part was no longer available from the manufacturer. The problems in having seen in par with this issue, turn wipers off and they stop immediately where they are, radio turns on n and off sparatically, as blend door doesn t want to function, as sticks in full blast, even when I turn the a.c. Off (it is the automated moduel).

I have heard that this particular job can be tricky as part numbers have to match, and if the vehicle has an alarm, which mine does, it can be another issue and o also saw something that the vin has to be matching also. There seems to be alot of links that day similar things so I was just trying to find a solid answer as to what I need to watch out for. I've also seen some articles say the Bcm is on the passenger side under the dash, and some say on the driver side. Do you guys have any suggestions on where to find a replacement or if there is an aftermarket manufacturer of bcms?

Thanks for the help. If any more info could help please let me know and I will be happy to get it posted.

Ebay. I bought the replacement for my old 2004 Intrepid there.
https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2065413.m570.l1313.TR0.T RC0.H0.X2001+Concorde+LXi+bcm.TRS0&_nkw=2001+Conco rde+LXi+bcm&_sacat=0
Go to a vendor that deals in ECM's and they can program it to match your vehicle.
Once you have seen what it looks like, finding it in the engine bay to get the part number will not be hard.

So if I can find a dealer on eBay, I just need to make sure the part number matches then provide them a VIN to program and they will be able to send me one programmed for my vehicle? I will have a look in the engine bay and see what I can find. Thanks for the info and taking the time to respond.

If you need the bcm because of the interior lights coming on randomly, it is not a problem with the BCM. You have a bad door switch. I've had to fix that issue a few times on LH cars.

If you need it for other reasons, then yes, you need to get the part number/serial number off your old one and give it and the vin to the vendor for programming. If you do not find one that the seller can program, a dealer can reprogram it for you.
