1996 Chrysler LHS with engine problems
I have a 1996 LHS that had some sort of compression or overheating problem. I don't know too much about what happened to the engine other than the spark plugs were removed for a compression test I'm assuming. Can anyone give me some tips on what I can do to try and get this thing running again? I looked at rebuilt motor prices and the cheapest I found was around $2000 for a rebuilt 3.5l. Doesn't seem worth it for a car thats only worth $1700 if it ran? What would you do? It seems like a shame to junk it since its physically in pretty good shape, but mechanically who knows?
How difficult an operation do you think removing and replacing the motor is? I have acess to a hoist, but not sure if that would help me any. I'd heard you have to roll the whole front end of the car out and roll it back. Is that true? I was hoping someone who had done this a few times could tell me a little more about the operation.
