Default 1998 Concorde LXi 3.2L w/ non op speedo and transmission issues

I have a '98 Concorde with the 3.2L and 137k. Today I started my car and put in gear to go......I noticed that my speedometer stopped working and my transmission won't get out of first. I check the fluid and it was normal and not burnt or low. No leaks......nothing. I'm guessing a speed sensor, TCM failure, or solenoid failure. Am I off track? Thanks.

Most common cause 98-01 Trans speed sensors. Output sensor is suspect as the speedo does not work. Both can be replaced in a few minutes for less than $100. Worth a shot...

To Chrysler Tech: finally got an OBD II machine and it did say the output speed sensor is faulty. It also said faulty TCM and first gear error as well and mentioned shift solenoids. I bought the speed sensor for 23 bucks, now it's a matter of installing.

Definitely a tight squeeze......but sadly I had to give up. There was a guy in this town I was visiting and he replaced both for free. The guy was awesome. Car is back to normal again.

The reason I gave up was because the jack I had wasn't high enough and I had no access to a rack.
