Question 95 Concorde starting problems

My 95 concorde ran well. Then it began to leak oil like a quart a day. Mechanics suggested quick fix to silicone the engine casing but besides the quart it ran great so all was good. A month later it began to overheat. We only used it for very short trips. We replaced the thermostat and the water pump. Now the engine won't turn over, it tries but it won't Start. My husband thinks it just needs a tune-up kit (wires and plugs). Any thoughts?

And how can I tell if it is something more?

The car is 14 years old, so it really doesn't owe you much. Assuming the battery is not half dead, if it won't turn over, it could be a bad starter motor or it could be a seized-up engine after all that oil loss and overheating. You could start throwing parts at it but it might be better for your peace of mind to take the old nag out behind the barn and.....

You could probably find a transportation special for less money than the replacement engine that this one might need.
