Question Blower motor or resistor? Can't decide....

Currently I don't have any air blowing from the vents because the blower motor is not turning at all. I still have heat and a/c that will get pushed in when the climate controls
are set to Auto which opens the outside vents. The pressure from driving highway speeds will roll in enough air to at least warm the car up after a while. Before this went out completely I had several problems with the A/C. 1) It would only blow on high when set to manual (by turning the temp dial or putting the air on recycle). 2) It would vary the speed when set to Auto however. 3) Turning the dial would make problem number one happen.

I'm not sure that since I still get some heat (albeit from the outside air pushing it in) that my blower motor resistor is ok but the motor itself is out. Considering the previous problems (which were never tended to and now i'm in this situation) I thought the motor was running ok since it varied the speed correctly when on Auto.

How can I find out for sure with some diagnostics or something, which part to replace?

98 Concorde LXi with ATC.

Thanks in advance!

apply 12v and a ground to the blower motor is it spins bad blower motor resistor.

Good call. Once the garage warms up tonight I'll get out there and try that!

If it's the motor, do you think that would also explain my previous problems? The one where it worked right on auto but only full blast in manual mode?
