Head Gasket replacement

This is similar to another post about coolant disappearing. I need to know how much is involved in replacing a head gasket on a 2000 Chrysler LHS. I have replaced all the hoses, water pump but not the radiator and completely flushed the system. I did a pressure test and there are no leaks anywhere. I took it to the shop and was told I have a leaking head gasket since it has a rough idle when cold and there are no leaks visible. It takes about 400 miles or so and then I notice that I need to add more coolant.
Is this a job that is better left to a mechanic? Thanks!

Already have a haynes manual. I should have added or asked if that is possibly a description of a leaking head gasket.

the 3.5 have been know to push out the coolant when the heads are real hot the heads will need to be replaced or machined back to spec
