Default Headlight bolt

Hello, I'm having trouble with the very long 7mm bolt that helps hold the headlights in place. They just won't get tight. I had to remove them to take off the radiator support and now neither driver or passenger side will not get tight again. Did something break as I removed them.

Year - make - model please

Do you mean 7cm (3 inch) bolt? If I recall correctly, the bolt threads into a brass insert. This insert has a tendency to spin within the plastic and not allow the bolt to tighten. It may be possible to epoxy the insert in place and it may hold. I took the bolt to a hardware store and pieced together a bit longer bolt with washers and nuts to replace the spinning insert. It took a bit to get the washer/nut on the bolt but I was able to get it tight. While apart, I suggest replacing the headlamp bulbs so you will not need to remove the bolt on the near future.

I'm guessing you are working on a 300M. The headlight bolt with the 7mm head goes thru a metal clip that should be in the tab on the headlight. Very common for this tab to crack and the metal clip nut to fall off.
Epoxy usually does not stick well and I use fiberglass mat to build up the area, shape drill and reinstall the clip.

I'm actually talking about a 2003 chrysler concorde. I forgot to mention that part of it. Yes I am talking about the headlight bolt with the 7mm head. I'm guessing it's about 3 inches long. I don't recall any clips but maybe the fell off and I didn't notice it. I do know atleast on the driver's side this headlight bolt went through what looked like a long black rubber tube. Does this clip go Inside this tube or is it on the bottom. If I don't figure it out ill try to post some pics this weekend.

Threaded clip is at the top of the tube, it actually holts the top of the tube in position. Long bolt only has threads at top. Sometimes the threaded part of the clip breaks off.
