oil light

must be a 2.7.
explain how you 'charged' your concorde?
and when it Billy Idols at 500, 500 RPM is a bit low for idle.
What weight oil are you using?
Have you ever thought to install a real oil pressure gage to determine the true pressure instead of counting on an idiot light?
However I'll be willing to bet your engine is on the way out and in need of a rebuild

whats an in route charger? whats an elcetric charger? have a pic of this charger? what company ECU chip?
What had a recent r&r?
Yeah, your right, there's nothing wrong with the ECU controlled idiot light. too bad these cars do NOT have an ECU controlled oil pressure idiot light. but then there's probably just a short circuit between the wheel and the seat.
BTW from your PM, 10W40 is WAY to think of an oil for the 2.7. It takes longer for the oil to flow to crucial components causing the engine to wear and fail

If it is a 2.7 motor it is more than likely the oil pressure switch Part Number: S4178 from O'Reillys they cost between $10 and $12. These are notorious for developing an internal leak. It will be located on the passenger side of the engine and is easy to replace, I believe it takes an 1 1/4" wrench. Hope this helps

that's pretty sound advice, but not what I would do since all that's being accomplished is just changing parts without doing proper diagnosis. 2.7's are notorious for bearing failure and oil consumption. the first obvious thing to do is check oil level. before I would spend the money on a sender, I would verify that oil pressure is truely correct. if it isn't you'll know that maybe the car should be repaired so you don't get stranded and have to add a tow bill on to the cost of repairs. If it is just a sender you got off cheap to solve the problem... but again, I would verify that the pressure is good so I don't waste my money on a sender that isn't bad due to a more serious problem.

I would rather suggest replacing a part that is known to go out that cost $15 instead of suggesting that the motor is going out. Plus, if you take it somewhere and you have it checked and it is the switch you are going to spend at least $75, now if you jack the car up and replace that switch you are only out a max of $15. If the light goes out that was the problem, but if it does not you might need to have it checked but with the prices of the shops these days I would replace the parts that are cheap and known to go out first but that is just me. I too am a little confused on the charged, is that an electric heater or something? I had the same thing going on with my Concorde and that fixed it. And yes you are right the first thing would be to check the oil to ensure the proper level especially if you just had it serviced.
