My son has a 1999 300M. Last week, the charging system stopped functioning. I replaced both the alternator and the battery. Still no charging to the battery. I checked the wiring diagram which led me to the SSR fuse, which was blown. I replaced the fuse and the charging system worked - at least until my son drove to the end of the street. The SSR fuse went again. Any suggestion as to why it keeps popping the fuse? What is the SSR fuse? Thanks.....

I think i just had the same thing happen with my 99 300m.
My fiance thought that it was a pcu and we thought that we were going to have to spend the 350 bucks to replace it but luckily he found out that a wire going to the battery was burnt and he could feel it through the insalation of the wire. lol it sat in the driveway for a month and that was all that was wrong with it!!
