Default sebring in driveway

have a 1996 convertible. one day while stepping on the gas it started to sputter but yet when got up to 55mph or so seemed to smooth out somewhat. stopping at a light had to pull over to get it going..tank was drained and several parts replaced.. to the tune of $500.00.. had 3 mechs. look at it. has anyone had any experience with this situation thanks cindy

Sounds like you had a fuel pump problem, or maybe a fuel filter problem. If they had to replace the pump, they would need to drain and remove the tank.
If you got a load of bad fuel, they might have also done that.
For that amount of work, the price is about right.
You didn't say if it fixed the problem, but your lack of complaint in that regard leads me to conclude that it did.
You shouldn't be surprised that on a car that's 13 years old, some problems will crop up.

Spring is coming, and it'll soon be time to put the top down and enjoy that convertible.
