Default 04 sebring convertible engine rattle

Ok, 2nd post and it's another issue with my girlfriends Sebring. It's an 04 convertible, not entirely sure on the engine size, I don't really mess with her car so I'm kinda in the dark about a few things, except when I drive it. I've noticed that when you crank the car there is a rattling noise under the hood, I can't really pinpoint it, but it seems like back right side of the motor, is there something back there that is prone to coming loose and rattling, if so, I just can't find it. Thanks for ya'lls help.

First suspect is the starter. While I'm not inclined to believe that it is prone to coming loose, it does happen on many cars. Check the "kick-out" solenoid mount on the starter as well.

If you have a 6-cylinder the clearances around the motor are tight. Maybe the movement of the motor during start is causing something to hit something else. If so, your motor/tranny mounts are suspect.

Exhaust pipe connectors may also be loose.

The rattle is at idle on a cold engine, it lessens as it heats up. The thing is a little louder than normal, so I'm suspecting there is also a leak somewhere. Well, it's going to a dealership tomorrow to get looked at for the tranny, and it hasn't been started today, so someone will get to see/hear what I've heard, we can't get it to replicate for our home mechanics, so we'll see what they say.

Sounds like your exhaust tube clamps or manifold are the culprit
