Question 06 Sebring fuse #5 issue

My 06 Sebring had a dead battery this morning. I jumped it and immediately there was a loud steady tone from the dash that lasted about 2 minutes. It stops for about 1 second then continues. Tried seatbelts, lights, up to removing the battery cable for 30 minutes hoping something would reset. Starting messing with the fuses and when I pulled fuse #5 it stopped. Of course the lights, radio, door locks and mirrors also stopped working. Put it back in and the loud tone immediately started. Ensured doors and trunk was properly latched and still had the tone. Came in to research and cant find anything anywhere. Any ideas or anyone experienced this?

The Body Control Module (BCM) is concealed below the driver side end of the instrument panel in the passenger compartment, where it is secured to the dash panel side of the Junction Block (JB).

The BCM utilizes integrated circuitry and information carried on the Programmable Communications Interface (PCI) data bus network along with many hard wired inputs to monitor many sensor and switch inputs throughout the vehicle. In response to those inputs, the internal circuitry and programming of the BCM allow it to control and integrate many electronic functions and features of the vehicle through both hard wired outputs and the transmission of electronic message outputs to other electronic modules in the vehicle over the PCI data bus.

I wish I did, at least I'd know what happened.

Thanks for the info about the BCM. Now time to see what a new one will cost me.
