Default 2001 Sebring LX jerk

I have a 2001 Sebring LX with the 2.4L and 43K miles. When its in drive and idling, and then when I just creep up by releasing the brake, there is a jerking motion, felt throughout the whole car. The RPM does not fluctuate and the spark plugs and wires are new. It only happens when the car is just rolling from a stop, before the gas is applied. After I gas it, its normal. Same jerk happens while backing up, without pressing on the gas. Does this seem like an engine problem or transmission? Thanks.

its sounds more like a trany problem then engine cause i was in my buddy's accord and its doing the same thing so i would bring it in to chrylser have them either look at the trany or look at both the engine and trany.

check the transmission mount between the firewall and the tranny... when it gets loose or broken, that whole car feels it... and believe me, it's a very common thing to break mopar mounts... I blew up 4 transmissions and an engine in my 98... that 01 may be out of warranty, so I would best advise getting haynes manual and doing it yourself... cost you less than the $2k a mechanic will charge you... let me know if you need any help...

I have the same issue. Did you ever resolve it? Was it the tranny mount?
