2001 Sebring Radio / Power Lock issues
Hello
I just purchase a 2001 Sebring 2.7 V6 (last week)
it came with a Nextar aftermarket radio. which was ok , but i did not like it so i decide to replace it with a Clarion unit.
The Clarion installation supposed to be very straight forward. I done radio installations before with no problems.
The set up is radio will power the 2 front speaker and the rear will be power by a small amp.
Head Unit
Front Speakers connected (easy)
Yellow (fuse) wire - Constant 12 + voltage
Red wire - Ignition 12+ Voltage
Black Wire - Ground to the frame /chassis
Blue Wire - to Amps remote
Amp: rear speaker connected to the amp speaker terminals.
Amp. blue wire to the auto power antenna in the radio
Amp. Red wire to battery power (with fuse)
Amp. Black wire to ground (bolted to the chassis)
So after all , turn the key and nothing hapenned , check all connections , but nothing.
I even tried to install the old unit (even easier with no amp) but nothing happens , there is 12+ voltage on the red wire.
Then i noticed that the power locks , interior light , trunk release dont work (all were fine before i started the installation)
I check the fuses on both panels (driver side and engine conpartment) and all of them are ok
Any ideas what the problem would be?
thanks in advance

Check the IOD fuse. IOD stands for Ignition-off Draw. It's in the middle of the interior fuse panel, the fuse with "ears" on it. That is the circuit that supplies the interior lights, power locks and clock even when the key is not present. You don't want to be tapping into that circuit unless your radio has a clock, and then, only for the clock. The main power for the radio should come through the key.

hi
Thanks for the help. I got it going , radio and power locks .
I was the fuse (with ears housing) , first time I did not pull out the whole thing so it look like the fuse was ok.
Thanks Again!
I still have to get the remote program , i guess for that i have to go to the dealer.
Also do you know the location of the horn , (not working at the momment)
