2002 Chrysler Sebring Convertible engine swap?
I own a 2002 Sebring Convertible. 2.7L.
The engine is knocking and it is getting worse. My repair shop stated basically find a new engine or buy a new car. I don't want a new car yet. I am having a hard time finding a 2.7 replacement engine in my area and don't want to pay an arm and a leg for shipping.
What I would like to know...is what engines will be a good and easy swap into my car.
Any and all help is much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

2.7L from a 2001 or 2002 Sebring sedan or convertible or Dodge Stratus sedan. Might be able to get away with a 2003.
Anything else will create problems with computer mismatch and/or fitting properly.

02 engine replacement
You never know how the prior owner took care of their car if you buy a used one, even if you get a warranty you DO NOT want to have to pull that motor out a second time. Bite the bullet, pull it out and rebuild what you have and hopefully drive it for many more years. Factory manual says it comes out the bottom, it is a pain but it will come out the top with 1/64 inch clearance. Good Luck
